The Mexican Government Champions for Social Innovation and Impact (GCSII) Working Group aims to consolidate efforts and expedite the expansion of the global social innovation sector, emphasizing the active involvement of the government.

There are two National Councils gather most of the organized sector:
• COSUCOOP
• MEXICOOP

Ecosystem

The sector’s ecosystem has been represented historically by the two major National Councils.
In this administration, the National Institute of Social Economy has develop more than 500 entities formed by an upper education institute, a member of a sector and a public institution, for organize, promote, foment the social and solidarity economy. They have presence in all States of the Country and in the most important regions, creating a new ecosystem for the sector.

Biggest societal challenges

One of the biggest challenges is to promote the knowledge of what social and solidarity economy means, the culture that it involves and the possibilities for the achieving a more democratic economy, more equal and fair.
